Is A Feedback Looper What I Need? (Video Example Included)

I've never really looked in to feedback loopers for whatever reason and was wondering if using one could get me the momentary blast of feedback that is found at around 2:51 in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn1Qrn_Xifg
I've been getting feedback like that for years now. I was just wondering if a feedback looper could do it by simply stomping a switch and then stomping it back off.

you should definitely be able to use a feedback looper for that

definitely no need to buy one of the overpriced ones on the market - here is an example of a "complex" feedback looper with LED and Mix control. Definitely do-able for ~$10-20 in parts
