Is a Tele with forearm and tummy cuts less of a Tele to you?

...or is it still a Tele regardless?

Jim, that one is a looker! Did you get that off of here?
Anyway, in answer to your question (sort of) I might be the only person who finds the stock Tele (no cuts) to be very comfortable and a perfect fit when playing while standing OR sitting. I also find most Tele's I've played to always balance really well.
I can't say the same for other guitars (Reverend... cough... Hamer... cough) but those gits kick ass in other ways.
Anyway, I like the Tele without the cuts. The strat, smoothed out "fallaway" just feels weird to me when I play <hence the reason I don't own one ;)>

    Double quoting Dave Orban: Yup
No problem here. A Camry LE, SE, XLE are still Camrys.
However if you mess with humbuckers or P-90s then it's not quite a Tele.

It doesn't matter to me and I almost have enough traditional Tele's that something like that might be nice.

I'm just foolin', that's one nice tele there. I've been known to mess with tradition myself. :)

I have a couple and like them, but IMO they are less of a tele (figuratively and literally) :)

I have owned both a contoured Linhof and Suhr T style. Beautiful playing and sounding guitars - both of them.
But the forearm and tummy cuts just bothered the heck out of me.
Even though these days I got the tummy to fill in those contours, anything other than a slab body Tele just ain't right.

No such thing as a bad Tele, but I like the Rawness of a chunky std Tele.

They may not look like traditional teles, but they are far more comfortable. I like them.

    reminds me of a strat.

my 72 RI has those cuts in it..... i'd be lying if i said it didn't annoy me. freaking killer guitar, nonetheless. BUT, did I wish it was just a standard body? you bet.
