A good comic has to know the depths of humanity to grasp the necessary humor paradoxes fully. Personal suffering is one effective way to have that. Superficial people cannot be good comics IMHO. I know nothing about Schumer's background though.

Yeah if I have to name one comic who seems artistically lacking, that for sure is the one. Stupid shallow bro humor, from the few exposures I've had. But I'm open to having underestimated him.

That's why most comics make good actors. They're basically playing a role on stage. Notice I said most. Some are just horrible. Seinfeld for example, while highly successful, was just an awful actor--even though he was playing himself.

This seems an awful lot like the Burden of Proof Fallacy.

The last sentence not being refuted, no, no more examples.

You can use post #2 if you like though.

I have to agree. In a nutshell, he was straight man for some good comic actors. I sure loved the show though.

I can't believe chuck shurmur is related! Means nothing to me. She pushes her political view, it will be the downfall of her.
Maybe she's involved with those two guys that were harassing yesterday someone on a plane. Maybe she drinks Bud. Who cares. Is she funny? Subjective!!
I know Chuck lost, and so did she last Nov 8th.

I can't really name anything he was in besides his show.

He was co-producing too so that probably helped.

Perhaps a little by exposing her to folks that weren't familiar with her, as stated previously.

I don't think Amy' popularity is due to hype or her views, as to me I became aware of those things long after. I do think her appearance on Comedy Central was responsible. The talent seemed there.

My only complaint was over focus on 20 something sexuality. But confident she will be expanding that.

Sorry folks, but I'm tired of having to come delete posts in this thread after people report them. Managing to insert politics is something that a lot of members can't seem to avoid. Not the way I want to spend this evening so thread is closed.
