Is Fender planning something for the Mustang Floor?

I just went to GC and they were blowing out the Mustang Floor pedals for $199.99 so I picked one up as I couldn't resist. I even got the replacement contract for five bucks. Seems too good to be true.

Mustang Floor II ?

I looked at one yesterday. If there were more Marshalls & their relations, I would have taken one home. The UI seems about right.

I think it's too early to release another Mustang Floor, the first gen has been out for less than a year or so.

The price drop maybe has more to do with the lack of success of this pedalboard. I got mine two days ago and I'm really impressed with the quality of emulations and the ease of use and funcionality of it. But still doesn't get much love.

Anyway, although Mustang amps are praised here and there, the Mustang Floor is the poor and unknown relative of the family.:huh

It seems most places have it marked down to $199.99 from $299.99. I'm sure the plan is just to sell all these units that have not been selling well. It makes sense, most people who want an all-in-one floor pedal probably go with the more feature rich POD HD's in this price range. People who want the Fender Mustang modeling probably buy the amps.

I have have the Mustang III. The only thing that would be nice to have would be a simple all in one Mustang Floor footswitch to control the amp. The amp has two separate footswitches & another expression pedal to get all the switching features. I get by fine with just the 2 & 4 button footswitches, but an all in one package would be nice.

At 199 $, you can buy the Mustang Floor and use it connected to the effect return of the III, the inside of it is exactly the same as the Mustang III. Use the amp as poweramp, cabinet, and backup, and the Mustang as you would use a typical midi controller.

Almost every midi controller costs more than that.

Thanks, I was aware I could do that, but to me that is actually a less favorable setup. It would require me to run power up to the Mustang Floor & an instrument cable back to the amp & wireless. My goal is to have less cables & stuff running past my feet on stage. I have a wireless, so all I run in front of me is the 2 & 4 button footswitches. I'm happy with my setup, just a wish.

Assuming it's a permanent price drop, I'm guessing it's because other units in the $300 range have more features.

At $200 the Mustang Floor does have more switches than similarly priced units, and possibly more connectivity, but still less features compared with Zoom G3X, maybe also Digitech RP355.

dang it...I wish this thing had a looper.

$199 is almost a no-brainer, though.

anyone ever compare the Mustang Floor head to head with a Digitech RP500?
