Is it okay to leave my patch cables on my effects even if I'm not using them?

I'm confused if I need to unplug my patch cables or just leave them there for less hassle. Thoughts anyone?

I leave mine in. Have never had a patch cable die on me.

Only unplug if you use batteries

    Beat me to it Gilmour!

I guess to add something else, if you have any pedals stored take the battery out too if it's for a long time. Sometimes they can leak.

    These posts sum it up.

All my pedals run off power so I leave the cables in. I used to have a few run on batteries so would unplug the cables in that situation.

I remember once leaving the cables in when I was running a TS808 RI with a battery. From memory the battery only lasted about 2 days (although it wasn't a brand new one).

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm using an adapter, so I'll probably just leave them. Thanks!

But if you're not putting them back in the plastic or cheesecloth bag, why bother?
