We have been having some grounding issues with the outlet I've been using for my amp at our rehearsal space. I keep getting shocked when I touch the mic and my strings at the same time. The PA is plugged into a different outlet then my amp.

So, the last couple of practices I have been plugging into the aux. outlet of the bass players amp. He has an older high watt bass head. I have not been shocked so all is good, but I want to make sure that I'm not going to damage my or his amp doing this.

    Any feedback would be helpful.

    thanks

What would be safe would be to get the grounding issues in the outlet fixed. Anything else would be noticeably less safe. I'd be less concerned about damaging an amp and more about personal safety. In your context, the amps should be fine.
