Is Mesa still making the Mark IV Shorthead?

    huh?!
    is that why I got my mk IV like a year or two ago for $1350 brand new at GC? I hope that they still make them' cause I want one again.

    Is there a big difference between the short head and the other versions or is it just looks?

    Its just shorter...so it looks better on 1x12 cabs.

    I think originally it was made as a Short Head...and then made the Wide one so it looked better on 4x12 Cabs.

    The short head can be racked as well with the rack kit installed. The short head is also a bit tougher to work on, I have the medium head and it is not as cramped.

    The Short Head is still available. People are still ordering them. I have a Short Head that's rackmounted and in my opinion that's the way to go. The "medium" head was made when they made the widebody combo. That was made for increased bass response in the combo form, not so it looks better on 4x12s. The only work I'll ever do on my Mesa is swapping tubes. I don't even want to think about the complexities of that chassis.
