"All show and no go" implies that they can't play. Those dudes can definitely play!

And, just like edsped said, their songs are fun and catchy. Cool band!

They are a successful, professional, touring, recording rock band that found a niche and are the best at what they do. You don't have to like them, but yes they are for real.

they can obviously play the hell out of those songs, but their stage act, personas and makeup are all a parody of the '80s glam thing...watch the guitar player's youtube rig rundown; he's hilarious.

Was good for a while, now just like the 80's and 80's tribute bands galore every weekend bar scene, they need to slowly fade out and let some younger bands have a place !

These guys play better than most of the 80's era bands they Joke on and pay tribute too
^^^
this

Kinda what I was referring to was the partying and sex thing they put across on stage. I thought some of them were married and have kids but they sure act like they are ready for the after show party and orgy if you know what I mean. Maybe it's all a schtick but onstage they are pretty good actors...;)

IIRC Satchel (can't recall his real name) was featured in Mike Varney's old "hot guitarist" column in Guitar Player back in the day, or he won some other kind of award. In any case he had some acclaim prior to Steel Panther.

slightly off-topic, but if you like this style of music with less innuendo the new Trixter album is very, very, good. Steve Brown on guitar is similar to Satchel. Lyrics are more "bon-jovi ish", but the guitarist smokes.

There are plenty of videos of them doing spontaneous covers like Van Halen tunes, Guns & Roses, etc.

These guys rock and I'd definitely go check 'em out if they ever swing by.

Russ Parrish played in one of Rob Halford's bands and with Kevin Gilbert. He's a great hard rock player and funny as hell. :)

That will happen because a younger band or other band will do something different or worthwhile.. :nuts

No band is being denied anything due to Steel Panther playing out to large venues..

And yes they can play circles around many band, if u like em or dislike em they can play

Have seen them twice, in Denver & Vegas, and had a great time at both shows. Would see them a third time.

Not only are they talented, but they're funny as hell. It's like a metal concert and comedy act rolled into one.

Ha! What a joke! They need to fade out and "LET" some younger bands have a place. How about a younger band make their own place or even better yet, how about a new band kick them off their current position? Steel Panther has more talent than a huge majority of bands. They are selling out a ton of big shows 250 plus nights a year and bringing it each time. Yeah, they should just stop and let somebody else have a chance....:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm.

If you are seeing Steel Panther quality bands galore every single weekend count yourself lucky and let us know where you live so we can move to where the hot music scene is located...:aok
