is the FX Engineering MoaB a tweaked SHO?

    just looking for a good boost and noticed the super high input impedance (5m) and the "crackle" in the pot descriptions sound awfully familiar. anybody know much about the MoaB boost?

    The only thing in common is the BS170. My circuit is pretty much right out of an old BS170 application data-sheet. Ive used similar gain stages in my audiophile gear going back 30 years.

    We compete in the same niche.

    For the record my pot gives more of a quiet hiss rather than a crackle.

    Thank you for your kind words. I get down your way quite a bit during the summer. We like to hang out at Fort Fisher on the weekends. Doing the 4x4 thing to find a quiet stretch of beach.
