I have an El Cap and I am wondering if I should get one? Is it really useful?

You could build one very easily, or have someone else build one. It won't have the same enclosure, but it'll be functionally identical. I'll help you with one if you're interested.

Even then, is a one-setting switch really that useful?

The answer is yes! I keep my pedal set for 1/4 notes and have used the Favorite setting for:
    -A Looper
-Spring Reverb (with a faint 1/16 slapback)
-.8ths (with everything else set the same as my 1/4 note setting)

BTW, I have the PRESET by Railhead Effects. It's much smaller and only $35

A resounding, "No." Just build one.

It's much cheaper than buying a second el cap, espesially if you go for a railhead or t1m.

The question was not about the expense but usefulness.

    :huh

Haha, but seriously, Favourite Switch is awesome... I love that I can recall my favourite BSR settings on the fly.

If you need two sounds easily accessible to you quickly, yes.
