I'm looking for a grab n' go combo to cover rehearsals and small club gigs when necessary. Looking for the usual Marshall/Fender type thing with the emphasis being on the Marshall side of things.

Is there any better make then Rivera in the price range that used Rivera's sell for? You can get a used Rivera for $700 - $1000.

    Thanks for reading.

I have a Rivera Suprema and Rivera Venus 6, and love them both. I also had a 40 watt Chubster, and was glad to get rid of it - not a very nice OD channel, kinda harsh, and the stock speaker was very directional. I sold it to a friend, who replaced the speaker (not sure with what) and he's still playing it. So YMMV depending on the amp.

Not the same price range, but I just picked up a Tone King Metropolitan to compare with my Venus 6.

I'd say Rivera or a Rivera-designed Fender amp. You can't beat their reliability and sound for the price!

+1000 for any of the Allen's

You can get a Hot Fudge w/nuts for well under $1K......fits perfectly between Marshall & Fender.

Also, the Dr Z Z-28 is a baddass mofo.....again fits perfectly between Marshall & Fender. You can get these for under $1K as well.

BTW.....I own both of these amps.

I have a Rivera Fandango 1x12 and it's a great "grab and go" amp.
