Is there a good 5881 tube that's not too expensive?

I need to get a matched pair of 5881 tubes for my Bassman, any recommendations?

BTW, I'm looking for really good bang-for-the-buck if at all possible. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money to be honest.

chinese/sino. $20 for a pair. At that price if you dont like them it really only cost you a handful of cheeseburgers from mcdonalds.

Tung-Sol's new production 5881's aren't too bad on price and sound great!

At $39 a pair, I think the new Tung-Sol 5881's are your answer.

I have a pair in my Vicky Bandmaster, and they are excellent.

Don't write off the JAN Philips 6L6WGBs - short bottle 6L6s too! A little more expensive than the new production stuff - but, reasonably priced for NOS. Not to mention they sound amazing!

New Tungsols in the Vibroking .......... they sound as good as NOS GE 6L6GCs. Give them a few hours to "burn in" and enjoy!

If you look at the specs on these tubes they are pretty much a 5881 .

True. And at $68 per pair, they're cheaper by the hour/month/year than new production tubes due to their longevity. :dude
