Give me the tone Martin Barre gets in "Aqualung" , or the sound of a 1974X ?
I think the Menatone Ms. Foxy Brown is supposed to be a Marshall 18-watt emulator.
Not a pedal, but my LP Jr into the mighty Pignose 7-100 (with the door open about 2") to my ear nails the Aqualung tone. Martin used a homemade 12" x 6" amp in the studio on Aqualung, specifically Cross-Eyed Mary, and the Pignose sounds a lot like it. Those little solid state amps distort like crazy and it's all analog so theres none of the digital fizz you usually get with amps in that price range. They make a pedal version with the same circuit called a "Piggy In A Box," but I've never used one.
