sounds like they flanged it after they recorded it dry
I'm pretty sure it's phasing... though some say flange was used...
Sounds like the whole track was put through a Phase90... Joking of course. My vote is for phasing.
At that period of time in studios they sometimes did a flanging trick of using a finger to move the 2" tape slightly on the 24 track machine's head(s). Phasers like the early Maestro sounded narrow & rather cheesy.
Sounds like tape flanging to me.
