Is there a "real" P90 that fits a humbucker slot?

I've got a great SG with humbuckers. I'd like a guitar w/ P90 grit. I had a guitar w/ Phat Cats and found them to be more of a hybrid pickup than a real P90.

What pickup is out there, if any, that fits the humbucker slot but sounds like a real P90 should?

Bareknuckle Mississipi Queens. I fitted a set to a Les Paul DC Standard, great "Real" fat & warm P90sound.

I've been thinking about the same thing. Could these kinds of pickups make an R7 sound like an R6? Or would it sound quite different?

    - How difficult is it to install or return the humbuckers?

    - Can anyone point to some clips where we could hear them?

    Beautiful guitar!

Are you, by chance, a W.C. Fields fan?

my experience is with Vintage Vibe pickups. i have been using them for a couple of years now on country, r & b and casual gigs. my ears says they sound like the P90's i had in a 1959 les paul special ( my best benchmark) many years ago. that said, it could be argued that since the size of area of string that a humbucker senses is larger than the area that a P-90 senses, it will never have exactly the same sound.
i would also say that Pete Biloft, the owner of Vintage Vibes, has shown himself to be very concerned with his quality control and i would buy from him again if i needed more pickups.

GFS Mean 90 has had great reviews, and it is inexpensive.

Here are some clips of the BG pups. They sound good and are well priced.

Sweet guitar. Can the P-92s get some real P90 spank and cut going on in the bridge position? Kinda like a Tele on roids.

Has anyone tried the Lolllar P90 for Humbucker yet? I am very interested in this pup but can't find any reviews.

I've never thought they sounded much like a P-90, although they do have their own charm. I've had a Gibson P-94 I've used for almost 10 years now that I'm still very pleased with. If I was buying one now, though, I think I'd probably try the BG pickup, based on his description and clips and the fact that I'm very happy with his BG Bucker.

Gibson P94's - HB body - Gibby P90 tone. Come in Cream and Black. Often overlooked - but a solid tone choice.

A real full size P90 can't physically fit in a humbucker slot, can it?
