Salsa, the condiment, not the dance....
I think the bass player from Van Halen has one.
I have that forum on my ignore list.
2HB, getcha some of this..
and hit it with one of these for about 30 seconds..
it doesn't take a forum to learn how to make good salsa!
Just make fresh pico de gallo and add your favorite saucy tomato blend, either roasted or fresh.
it's pretty hard to mess it up
Good stuff, never saw the cilantro version.
It's tough to find.
Walmart never has it.
Places like Whole Foods usually stock it. Or Fiesta.
I'll have to look again, regular and no salt is all i usually see.
It's worth it when you find some.
Salsa is so stinking easy to make, I haven't bought jarred salsa in years.
That's OK but I'd raise the bet and use one of these- or combine the two?
That one is excellent to add when you're making a pot of chili, but not so much as a salsa base.
Ya, it really does make a great base for chili- use it all the time.
I like this...
but always looking for something better!
Geez, just make it yourself. there's only like seven ingredients.
Fresh Roma tomatoes, diced
jalapeno peppers (or chili pepper of your choice), seeded and diced
red onions, diced
green onions, diced
Mix it all together, add salt and pepper to taste; cumin and chili powder are optional...
If there is such a place, I'd bet a dollar that there's some guy saying that they don't make it like they used to.
Why bother making your own salsa when you can get a quality jar of Pace or Old El Paso for just a couple of bucks?
I had a girlfriend in San Diego who taught me how to make Huevoes Rancheros who turned me on to Herdez Salsa. It's my daily go-to, but I like the local "boutique" brands better.
But then you can't out-snob the next guy.
