Is there a way to wire a SD single coil HB

    so that it functions as a single coil pickup. I mean there are so many wires, I suppose there's a way. please help.

    are you talking about a "rails" type pickup, like a hot rails or a jb jr? if so, then yes, you can split the coils so it has just one coil on, but unless you're running it with another single, like on the 2 & 4 settings on a strat, it will be really thin by itself.

    if you want it to be more single-coil sounding by itself, the ticket is to wire it parallel instead of series. this will still use both coils and will still hum-cancel, but will sound reasonably close to a normal single coil.
