    1. tap tempo,

    and

    2. modulation (adjustable)

basically I'm VERY happy with my Carbon Copy, except I'm thinking having tap temp might be cool.

oh, and lower-price options are appreciated!!

    thanks!!

The only one that I know of is the Diamond Memory Lane 2. It is an expensive pedal though...

Line 6 M9 or M13 has several...and you can stack them.

Sure you have to set it to analog, but doesn't the Line 6 Echo Park do that now?

    Ok listen.

Tap tempo is usually on digital delays and not on analog delays.

There are very few exceptions to the rule.

I don't know if they are all analog, but two delays that come to mind that are very convincing as analog delays are the Empress Superdelay and the Pigtronix Echolution. If you want to venture out of the strictly analog realm, maybe try a Boss DD20 or DD7

That's the point of this thread, actually.

I think there are only three modulated analog delays that have tap tempo:
    • the Deluxe Memory Boy (not out yet)
    • the Malekko Ekko 919 (not out yet)
    • the Seymour Duncan Déjà Vu Tap Delay (can blend the analog delay with digital delay, but can remain 100% analog if you want it to. At least that's what they say)

The Diamond Memory Lane has tap tempo and modulation, but as far as I know, you have to choose whether you want to use modulation OR tap tempo (if you choose modulation, I think the footswitch that would otherwise be used for tap tempo will only activate the modulation). Correct me if I'm wrong...

The Empress SuperDelay and Pigtronix Echolution are digital delays. But I hear Empress are going to put out an analog delay soon, might be worth checking out...

Definitely, going for digital will yield more possibilities (and cheaper alternatives)

    Not quite.

The ML-2 has two switchable delay times.

On one, there is tap tempo, and modulation is always on, controlled by the depth and rate knobs (it turns off if you set the rate to 0). On this mode you have tap tempo AND modulation.

On the other, the delay knob, NOT the tap tempo button controls the tempo, and the tap tempo button turns the modulation on and off.

Okay, thanks for the rectification! I still had the first version in mind. It's really cool that this weak point was addressed when they went on to version 2, I didn't know that (never paid too much attention actually, as I think it's pretty expensive).

So there are four of them then! (including two that are still due, though)

it's coming out in january, i believe.
    you can preorder them, though.

i use the Diamond Memory Lane2 and i love it.
i was gassing for the Deluxe Memory Boy until i got this thing... it's just a wonderful delay. it blends really well, which is what i loved about the ad-999... digital delays just don't blend, bleed, feel right to me.
