Is there an effect that you have just given up on?

We are all constantly tweaking and trying new effects, but it seems that there come times when some just give up on certain effects or categories that are not worth the pursuit for them.

What is it for you?

Chorus. I've got a Jacques Meistersinger that I really liked for light chorus, but ever since I added a Catalinbread Echorec to my board, the chorus seems somehow redundant, even though the a Echorec is a very different animal.

I've given up hope on there ever being a pedal that will emulate the sound of a Fender Rhodes. Also I don't think there will ever be a sequencer pedal that will do everything I want it to that's not it's own instrument.

I used to love chorus pedals, then i got a delay with modulation and no longer needed a chorus

Compressors.

Fuzz up until a couple of months ago when I got the Iron Bell, now I'm hooked.

Wah for me.. I can never use it without it sounding cheesy so I ditched it and have never looked back

Yes! All of them... except OD, delay, and reverb... and even the reverb is trying at times, especially in live situations. I could get by without it, but I like spring reverb.

Unfortunately, for me it's fuzz. I LOVE the sound of a good fuzzface and have owned several VERY nice sounding fuzz pedals. Simply can't use them anymore due to my home being close to radio towers and every fuzz I've tried ends up broadcasting foreign talk shows. Bummer!

Really? Heard that some Germanium Fuzzes tend to do that. Have you tried the newer breed of Fuzzfaces like the Mojo Hand Crosstown or the Solidgoldfx If 6 Was 9? I have both and from what I know they are more stable than older Fuzzfaces. But then again, I don't live under a radio tower, so I can't guarantee it won't happen ;)
