Is there something between a Super Champ XD, and an AxeFX rig??

I love my SCXD. I can get some very nice tones from it. Still, it is far from perfect. I was wondering if there was something in the same vein as the SCXD, but better....but not approaching the tweakable level of the AxeFX? I am more of a plug and play guy than a super-tweaker and I am afraid I would go insane messing with a AxeFX. I keep trying to come up with something that is similar to the SCXD, but of higher quality and I can't think of anything.

I'm in the same boat as you and posted on it on the modeling page. I really like my SCXD but like you, want to take it to the next level but with a real BF amp as the engine or something similar. I just couldn't pass up the SCXD when it was on sale for 2 bills. Better BF Fender than most amps out there in Channel 1 and some very good OD's. Better than some of my boutique pedals IMO.

The last time I heard modeling it was horrible and I lost track of it. But I want something not so complicated as the Axe-FX and that plugs into a BF Fender. But what I am told is that you need a flat response so it is PA's, studios, monitors. One is severely compromisng through an amp as the sound was designed around a flat response. Well design it around a BF Fender sound and make it simpler and you will have the biggest product in years or am I crazy?

No offense to you true modeling lovers. I get it now. Some great sounds.

If you really want to experiment with modelling, I would go with a Vox tonelab in front of your SCXD.

However, I don't think it's models that the SCXD lacks, it's a 12" speaker. In my mind, the "next level" is an external 12" speaker cab, or relocating the chassis into a JD Newell cab and adding the 12" speaker.

I already run my SCXD into a 2x12. What I am looking for is a similar platform, but with some higher quality tone. I use the clean channel on my XD and I use a couple of models at best. I had a Tonelab a few years ago. It was a nice modeler, but I am looking for more of an amp.

I thought the Cyber-Twin was seen as the spawn of Satan here. I don't think I have ever read anything good about it. Of course, I have never played one personally.

I looked at some clips of the new VM Deluxe and Bandmaster. I think the SCXD sounds better.

Maybe I should send the SXCD to Fargen and let him do his thing. I wonder if it is worth it??

There absolutely is and will be released very soon. MUSE (creators of the receptor) is releasing the MuseBox and in a partnership with Peavey will come preloaded with Revalver MKIII. They state an expected pricing "well below $1000" and news on the street is that it will be around the $800 mark. If you haven't tried Peavey's Revalver MK III it's incredible and their realeasing an update with a bunch of new models including a couple Budha amps.

[EDIT]It includes a "lite" version of Revalver, not the full MKIII[/EDIT] : (
