    Price is too good to be true. US neck serial number but that can be faked. Someone with more knowledge will be able to pick it apart.

    tuners are wrong for a US standard. looks to have 2 point trem so not a vintage reissue.

    It has been modded with the pickguard and tuners, and they don't have a case. It's easy enough to replace the modern tuners with vintage-style; you just have to use conversion bushings and drill additional holes. Hopefully it's just a deal and it's not a stolen guitar. Even with the mods and missing case you would think it would go for $500-$600.

    All of the above is pretty much what I was thinking. At best, it's been modded, who knows how competently, because I don't think Fender has ever put out a Strat with vintage-style tuners and a modern two-point bridge. At worst, it's fake or stolen.

    The CP60s and 50s do but those are MIM.
    Aside from that, yeah something fishy is going on with that axe.

    Hmm, you're right, I'd never noticed that. I've never really looked closely at the CP models before.

    The tuners are not original and appear to have been poorly installed...

    Do yourself a favor and check them out- great axes.
