1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

    Not a Satriani song.

He's throwing in versions of I'm the One and Eruption and other breakdown sections of VH songs.

I’m not much of a pedal guy but there are legions of members here chasing that tone, so there is a wealth of ideas to read about

Friedman BE-OD operating at 18V

You could stick that in front of a little Fender combo amp.

Yeah i am a big fan of those tones....Ty Tabor sound is the same ballpark.

I tried the Riot at my pals house and on the net it sounds like it was gonna be a contender but in the flesh it was really not much cop...i kinda lost faith that the tone was doable with a single pedal and a clean amp.....

The Mad Professor "1" pedal does a very respectable job trying to get the brown sound from a clean amp. Has the plate reverb built into it, too.

The piece @ 0:13 does sound like something Satch would do as well, but it's even closer to Pete Thorn's track Dirty Town off his new album:

EVH influenced the influencers of today's influencers.

    I dunno.

The one I have doesn't say "deluxe", and I can run it at either 9V or 18V

It sounds better at 18V ;)

Just saw this the other day - Pete Thorn’s sound (and playing) at the end of this pedal demo is as close to the original as I’ve ever heard.

Weird video in the OP. He’s clearly not playing it live. Vibrato on the D chord at the beginning even though he’s not moving his fingers and not touching the trem bar. Than at :50 he goes to grab the bar, but misses. He grabs it a second latter and appears to give it a little back and forth bend which would give it a vibrato, but the audio just has the note bending down.

Sounds decent, but who knows if he actually played it, and if it was in fact that guitar/those pickups that he’s selling. Poorly done.
