that school is all trashy now. almost as bad as penn st.
Nah, a lil too much Hernandez stench still hanging about..
With a first name like Urban he's got to be a doosh.
Nope. He’s been persona non grata for a while in Gainesville. Winning is nice but plenty of people seem to win without being a slimeball.
Because Rural is soooo much cooler.
I heard Charles Arbuckle say on Bill King this am the one reporter that broke the story has more text. He also got this info from a previous case that was sealed.
How does that happen?
So I'm still leaning towards they try to keep him with some type of punishment but not leaning that way as much.
Maybe Nick Saban will retire...
Unlike a cool name like Bobbybigbucks.
I think they should fire his ass but I don't think they will. Too much money and glory to be lost for a huge program if they let him go. He'll give some teary apology and admit how wrong it was and say he is working on improving himself everyday. then he will make some million dollar contribution to a shelter for abused women.
I hope I'm wrong.
Some are reporting that the 'paid administrative leave' is a step toward negotiating a separation agreement with OSU. If the guy knew about this (and it sounds like he did) and did nothing or report what he knew (sounds like he did not) he certainly will be out of a job, soon and rightfully so.
Urban implies Urbage. Or Urbishness. Urbiosity?
Urban Meyer's wife is employed by OSU school of nursing, she also had an obligation to report abuse.
Not as happy as Greg Schiano.
Was the assistant charged with a crime? I'm not an Urban Meyer fan, but if the assistant wasn't charged then why would he have to discipline/fire the assistant? Are you suppose to discipline/fire the assistant for accusations?? Do you suspend the assistant? Shouldn't OSU have some code of conduct or rules in it's athletic department that spell out what is suppose to happen in events like this?? Especially after the stuff at PSU and MSU.
I think Meyer is a scumbag based on past events that happened, but reporters also lie and misrepresent facts to get a "story".
Yes and I sure do hate it - I am Bama fan but I like urban I think he is a great coach
I will say this much. It will take balls for tOSU to fire him.
Times they are a changin though.
Football culture will be very difficult to change in the ways it seems like it will have to change. Even the concussion stuff is changing a lot.
There is lots of sentiment that he should be fired (which I have no problem with, especially having watched Florida beat Tennessee all those years), but assuming he did hear the details from his wife, did he commit an actual crime by not reporting it, or just a moral failure?
I’m wondering, though. If a police report was filed but then charges weren’t pressed, what is Urban Meyer’s responsibility there? Can he be fired with cause?
Not defending him. I really think the whole situation is despicable.
