Issue configuring line 6 M13 expression pedal

So I follow the instructions: turn on the exp pedal under settings, mines plugged into #1.

Now go to effect you wanna play w/ and put pedal to heel down, then set parameter how you want.

Then put pedal toe down and set parameter how you like.

I do this, multiple times, shutting on/off, all no go. It's funny b/c I did this a week ago and it worked, then the next time i turned it on, it didn't work anymore, and now, its not working.

any ideas?

Under settings you have to enable (and choose) the expression pedal for each column of effects. Have you done that?
