it was so hot....the wax on my tele pickups melted

Yes, melted. I live in Texas. The guitar has been in vans and in the bay of a bus while touring this summer.

The wax dripped down the body and hardened upon being in A/C.

Is this a problem? If so, what should I do?

Clean it, play it.
Some people think less wax is a good thing.
There can certainly be more than needed.
If the pups seem to be microphonic they can be re-potted (re-waxed).
If it sounds better you have gained relic mojo points.

Yea, exactly what he said. Clean it up, and play it. There is often more wax in them then is needed to make it not microphonic. If it becomes micophonic then get them repotted. If it doesn't, keep on rocking it.
