    hey peeps,
i know it's been a while but i have a new song up here:

    http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6376158

    or

www.myspace.com/jbromusic (it's the 2nd song on the page)

it's called new sounds (for the old soul) and it's a basic funky, 2 chord jam. a bunch of people have been asking for cd's so i'm trying to finish one before the summer. this is a very rough mix and i'll probably change the guitar sound on the end solos (i used amplitube 2 this time and i might go back to guitar rig). i hope you like it.

    thanks john and joe!

haha- the ending! i'm glad you dug that joe. i think this will be the last tune on the cd so that will be the last thing people will hear. thanks for checking it out guys.

p.s. i always knew those greg howe licks that i learned as a teenager would come in handy some day. :)

That's some mean ju-ju, Jack! I really love that mob squad sound!!! Give me more a dat **** baby! Just named a tune, "Mob Squad" I posted my myspace last night, but yours definitely fits the better. I want to be running around in 70s San Francisco brandishing my Smith and Wesson 686 kicking in doors with my polyester bell bottoms flying, but with my afro unfazed.

andy- thanks man! i'm glad somebody caught the nod to donna lee in the solo. long live bird!

john- haha! dude, i want you to direct and star in a video for this song. your description is perfect although i could also see it taking place in NYC in the 70's. you also would have to have a thick moustache (with no beard). :)

That's a deal! Just pay me with a huge supply of NYC hot dog vendor tokens then...oh, and a pass to MOMA.:)

Seriously, I forgot to mention in the original post just how blown away I was by your solo to and approach. The lines, the execution, and that semi-hollow tone is thoroughly bad-ass. I enjoy the balance between programmed and live raging human!

Wow JB! Killin' track, mix, playing, whole enchilada bro. Howe did you pull off that ending? I was waiting for Barry White on the outro....

john- thanks again man! you're far too kind. i've got your hot dogs and moma passes covered too. (moma is one of my favorite places in nyc). definitely let me know if you're ever in the area and we'll hang.

scott- thanks a lot bro! the ending solos are definitely 2 different guitar tracks (the jazz, er, i should say fusion guitar track and then the shred track). i want the cd to end with a bit of a bang so i figured i might as well go for broke. haha. i was definitely into guys like greg howe, brett garsed, shawn lane, eric johnson, etc... in high school and early college. those were my cats back then before i got into sco, metheny, jim hall, frisell....

thanks again for taking the time to listen guys!

Loved the tune and excellent fusion playing as well. ;)

Seriously, I really dug it, and loved the mellow ending. Wish that was a little louder. Very cool contrast.

tag- thanks a lot my man. i've been shedding my fusion chops lately! :) i could make the ending louder but it was supposed to sound like an old soul/r&b record fading out. maybe i will boost it a little. thanks again bro.

thanks for checking the new one out tonefish!

Really great outside stuff Jack, love it. Is that a picture of an ARP 2600 I see in the background?
