Got to hang with JD for a bit in St. Paul, MN, when he did a clinic at Willie's American Guitars a few months ago. He was a
really nice, down-to-earth guy, and well-versed in the many ways of rock and blues.

I like going to shows at Sellersville. I've been to around five of them over the past year or so, and have gotten to know the staff. It's a long ride-over two hours-but it's a great room for a show, and the food next door at the Washington House is excellent.

Well that makes sense why he just created a signature TC Electronics tone print.

    You bought it from JD?

JD did not own it. It belonged to a friend of his. I don't know why or how, but it was for sale at Carter Vintage and I snagged it. I met the owner too and chatted with him about the amp. It is by far my favorite amp. Such an incredible overdriven tone.

And loud. If it's same one he's been using the last several years, it's melted my face off from behind a plexi-glass panel twice.

Yep, it's the purple plexi that's featured in Premier Guitar's rig rundown of JD's gear. Louder than hell, but gets along very well with a Brown Box variac and a Power Station.

    Ladies, ladies
Stop worrying what JD looks like and what he is wearing.
    It is embarrassing.

I loved the Gibson and Marshall combo but man that Deluxe Reverb sounds great. I personally think he sounds more unique and has more of a sound to call his own with the Deluxe Reverb, Supa Fuzz, ES-335, and Telecaster than he did with the burst and Marshall.
