What is the actual difference in body size and shape between these two? Are the bodies identical or are there slight differences? I f so, what are the differences? Is the Jag body smaller as well as having a shorter scale and different electronics?

Nope.. they are different and noninterchangeable… JM 25 1/2 scale Jag, 24" scale.. However, if you want A Jag with a 25 1/2 scale… I can do it...

I believe that the Jaguars actually have a slightly larger body, despite it's shorter scale length, which is odd. Really don't quote me on that though, I don't even remember where I heard that, and if it is bigger the difference is negligible!

Everything has already been said except..... the horn on the Jag is smaller than on a Jazzmaster

    Whoa....body profile is so close.
Mostly just that little extension on the upper cutaway.

    This
ill confirm Doc Morbius' illustrations.. these are templates I made from an original '63 Jag and JM, Curt Novak sent me…. everything except the obvious is the same… within reason…

Ya gotta remember, these were hand done in '63, and the final sanding with power tools meant no two were ever exactly alike…
