Cliff...you should start a new thread saying "post your cissy strut takes here". The clips are buried deep in the thread and not many guys will read that far in. Thats what he means!
:) I will get one up Tuesday. Cant do it until then.:(

Ok, that makes sense. I'll add that info in the title. It wasn't my plan to have people post but it's a good idea
    I think I'll do the same. :)

Glad you guys liked it. The FX were tongue in cheek of course, thus the "fish lips" and "sissy" strut name. Thanks for listening. :)

Tag, I know you're adverse to effects at some point, me too, but you still sound great when you use them even if you are just f*ckin' around.

Yeah, at the point Miles was trying to get his horn to sound like a synth it legitimized or at least partially justified more electronic processing post-bop.
There was an earlier generation of critics that thought the muted trumpet was an effect, not to be taken seriously.

Appreciate it buddy! I dont like the song, and its the first time I played it. It was all auto pilot, my same tired ****, so the auto wah covered it up and made it sound better than what it was.
    :facepalm

Later. Just arrived back at home after the entire "xmas-visit-parents-with-family-play-new-year-gig-inbetween-and-pick-up-family-again" routine (Happy new year btw!).

Just listened to the backing you folks jammed over - oh my, the joy of messing up something as harmonically complexed as two chords. Well, in fact, whomever recorded things, they messed up the form. Guitar is playing Ab7 and the bass still stays on C7 (and no, it's defenitely not meant as an Ab7/C). Can't record anything right now (kids time) but will try to do that justice later on - why not bring in yet another harmonic layer? Harr...

Dont have a heart attack! Its just a loose jam for fun! I think we all used different backings or own bands. I just grabbed one off youtube and played along.
