I'm working on remixing the American Gangster album for Jay Z. Here is the first song, called "No Hook".

Guitars are ESP Custom Shop Eclipse and Gibson Les Paul Studio
Amp was Bad Cat Tone Cat
All effects were done during the mix and include UAD-1 Boss CE-1, Bionic Delay and reverse guitars.

Recording was done into Samplitude 9 and RME Fireface 800.
Mics were Audix i5 and Shure SM57.
Preamp was Universal Audio 2-610.

Other instruments include Akai MPC4000, Access Virus TI, Korg M3, Motif XS6.

Bass was recorded direct into a Avalon VT-737.

The funky parts are great. At first I thought the Police/synthy parts were too wet/ambient or forward in the mix... but on second listen, they compliment the dry funky sounds perfectly. Good job.

Thanks for the comments guys. It really means alot. I'll be posting more of the Jay Z remixes soon. All include some form of guitar, ranging from Metal to Spanish inspired, to more of the funky stuff.

Thanks again.
