If anyone's interested, I uploaded the video I took from when JD Simo was in town last wednesday night. Hands-down, the most incredible player I've seen in my life. Attaching a couple videos below but here's a link to the entire playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLp0Z3GIAkgRu_e_RdZXnogCqrCsU8-PxQ

I'm attaching a couple crappy pictures (taken while videoing) of their gear too. I got to meet him after the show, couldn't have been a nicer guy either!
Guitar was a 1960 Les Paul, 'Candy' I believe he calls her. Only pedal was a vintage Vox wah. Into a Marshall head a friend custom built for him, into a Marshall 4x12. Other amps were just backups.

Glad to see JD is going places after his move to Nashville. He grew up here in the Valley, and has been kicking ass for years.

First I saw of him was opening a local blues festival when he was 14, and he was jaw-dropping then. He ended up jamming with the headliner- Buddy Guy- after the show.

The next time I saw Buddy playing here, JD opened for him. :rockin

A talented kid who has stuck with it.

What happened to his other bass player with a huge pedalboard?

Awesome. Interesting to see that the only thing he has inline is that wah. No tuner.

Saw him and his band a few weeks ago in Terra Haute. Was a great show. He is a talent. Loved the sound of his new songs. Cannot wait to hear the album which he said was in the can.

Was wondering as well. His pedalboard was almost as big as his hair!

You bet, glad there's some interest!

Crazy thing was, I don't recall seeing him tune during the set but maybe once or twice.

You got it guys - one of these days we'll make it to a show together and grab a brew.

He stepped down about 6 months ago, citing a family move from Nashville to California (I think). It was posted on FB. Frank was behind getting the band going and did most of the studio stuff.

Wow! His voice has come a long way judging from previous clips I have seen.
Another one I won't be able to see live due to the fact that I live in Europe.
I mostly like him because his sound approach is very much my own too.
    Thanks for posting.
By the way the second and third clips doesn't seem to play, can you fix it?

JD is the best. Saw him last night here in Columbus, GA for the second time. Here is a crappy cell phone pic. It is a small club, and they had a plexiglass plate in front of his cab. After the first song, he pulled it away from the cab some so it could open up his sound. Unfortunately, the house mix wasn't great so the vocals were mostly drowned out. But the band was really good, and JD melted faces as usual.

Agreed, his slide playing is something else! Would love to see him and Derek Trucks trade licks!
