Just because I've been quiet about it doesn't mean I forgot. We're one step closer.
Watching! Ten Years After.
Wow, it's been that long!
Still a great thread. Maybe the best ten-year bump ever!
The intent is to hopefully make it worth it.
Really cool, playing and sound, which channel did you use?
Has this amp an ef86 channel, how is the cleanup of the supa fuzz, how does it compare to an Mk I Tonebender?
For me quite close to older Jeff Beck stuff.
Glad to see this thread resurrected!
I played all last night through my Faceless FX Marquis and my Jimmy Behan Supa Mk.1 after reading this thread before work yesterday....
Yep....those are some good sounding fuzzes.
Seems to me like Beck probably used both just from various sounds I was getting. Sort of depends on the song or album.
I luuuuuv both so much.
It ain't me. Just someone I stumbled upon on youtube.
Generally, they may clean up well - or not depending on the weather. It's the nature of the beast.
MKIs feel very different. I guess you gotta have both
This ain't me either:
First one sounded like a MkI
Second one, can't tell, but surely through a cocked wah ?
Sola Sound MKII in both. The blue small board reissue. No idea if he uses a wah, though.. but he is tweaking the tone controls.
I was listening to the sound clip of "Let Me Love You" in the first post, my first thought was that there was a cocked way in there, but listening more closely, I'm hearing a slight filter sweep, maybe with resonance. There are times in the sustain that the guitar almost sounds like a harmonica...which is the part pf the tone that is so elusive, IMO.
Given that it's Beck, I wouldn't put it past him to be doing one-handed legato lines while simultaneously changing the tone knob of the guitar with the other hand. All in all, an extremely intriguing tone. I may have to pick up a J Rockett Led Boots to explore further...unless there are any other pedal recommendations for this?
