I'm really tempted by this instrument..........
Does anyone own one of these?
And if so, what gauge strings are to be used on the fretless drone neck?
    Thanks for your precious help
    :AOK

Don't own a JJ copy but I own a real original Coral Electric Sitar, invented by Vincent Bell. The recommended gauges direct fron my 1967 Coral Sitar's owners manual are #1 {closest to neck} is .015, #'s 2-8 are .011, #9-13 are .009 gauge.

I have a Jerry Jones Supreme Sitar. I have had it over a year and have never needed to change the drone strings. They are all smaller than the 11 I have for a high E string on the guitar neck.

So are all 6 of them the same size?

Yes. The drones are all the same gauge. The ones on mine are all 0.10".

I have one of these-I restrung it like the Coral manual suggested, as Mr Graphic describes-big difference from the all .010 setup that was on it-luckily a producer pal of mine is a total Coral fiend and turned me on to it.

Hey everybody, I think we are talking about two different instruments here. :jo

The Jerry Jones SUPREME SITAR, has a second very short fretless neck with just 6 strings, not the dulcimer like arrangement of 13 of the regular one

That's the one I'm trying to make sense of........
    Can anybody please help?

Why not contact Jerry Jones and ask instead of getting frustrated?

He's in Nashville, and anytime I've called he's answered the phone personally.

Thanks, but living in Italy calling somebody in Nashville on the phone is a bit expensive unfortunately, I'll try and e-mail again :)
