JHS Emperor?

Anyone used a JHS Emperor yet? Wondering if it really does nail the VB2 vibrato tones, and how good the chorus really is.

Have they even shipped yet? Also being sch1 based I wouldn't count on dead on vb2 renditions. Still seems cool in its own right. I love the sch1 but hate the wimpy construction thereof

I tried one the other day and really dug it. The chorus does the chewy, swirly, and subtle very well. Never tried a VB-2 but have heard a lot of demos and from what I can tell it gets damn close. Sounded really good.

I'm looking forward to seeing more demos of this pedal. Specifically a shootout with an Arion chorus, and more of what you can do with the expression pedal.

I was also curious to see if anyone else had taken the $300 plunge. So far I've seen one guy from Canada on TGP who actually owns this pedal.

They have some good video demos out there. I would also like to see a demo with the expression pedal.

I found one used for $250. Should get it next week. For that amount this thing better blow my socks off.

Update: I've played the Emperor for a few hours and really dig it. I haven't owned a chorus pedal in over 15 years, and I've never owned a vibrato pedal. I will say that, with the tone knob at noon, there's definitely a brightness to the pedal. The YouTube demo comparing the Emperor to the Warped Vinyl highlights this. It's a pretty hi-fi sounding pedal. But it works for me and I can see using chorus & vibrato tones on ways I'd never used them before.

I haven't actually USED my Emperor in a live setting yet...but I LOVE playing with it. Really happy with the sound.

I wonder...is there an internal trimpot that raises/lowers the level a bit? I feel like when I engage the pedal it raises my overall level.

In order for me to stay at unity volume with the pedal engaged, I've had to turn the volume knob all the way counter-clockwise (i.e., off). Seems odd to me.

Hey guys, If you are experiencing a volume boost please let me pay to have it sent in and returned same day. I have a fix that I can implement in this first run for you at no charge. The next run will be that way stock. I appreciate the feedback!
