Only if his newfound enlightenment doesn't resonate with you. My POV is he is now mentally free of many detrimental things.

    I'm glad he was cleared.

I had never given Jim Carrey any thought until I recently saw "Jim & Andy" (which didn't mention his legal problem). I highly recommend this movie.

The claims of decades old sexual harassment is getting way out of hand. There's usually very little, if any, corroborating evidence and the person being accused is lambasted in the press and courts of public opinion. And when accusations are found to be false, there is very rarely, if ever, any negative or legal repercussions for the accuser.

REAL sexual harassment is tragic and can ruin the lives of the person being harassed. With that said, I don't think it's right to apply today's moralities on things that happened 20, 30 or more years ago. My wife is in total agreement with me on this one. REAL sexual harassment or assault runs the risk of being trivialized by the onslaught of decades old claims of unwanted advances.

Totally disagree, especially when that harassment includes assault.

OK, I'm a bit confused by your assertions here. You're saying that the dismissal of the case is itself "proof" of blackmail on the part of the mother or the ex?

Also, are all dismissed cases proof of blackmail in your mind or just this one?

Well, Jim was married to Jenny McCarthy, and Jenny McCarthy IS multiple STDs...so it's sad that a bit of pre-emptive common sense wasn't used here.

I both read and understood it. I disagree with it.

I don't believe decades old claims of sexual harassment have gotten out of hand. There have been many cases where corroborating evidence has come to light and lead to charges and even convictions. Jerry Sandusky is one such example. Bill Cosby is another.

I also disagree that old claims trivialize new claims of, as you put it, REAL sexual harassment. If anything it highlights the magnitude of the issue as it has persisted through time.

I also think the idea of squashing claims of a certain age basically gives sex offenders, and especially child sex offenders carte blanche to continue their activities. Many victims, especially underage victims, take years to come to terms with what happened. Silencing their voices based on the age of the claim only exacerbates the problem by removing a path to justice for them.

In short, I totally disagree with you.

Neither men nor women inherently hold the moral high ground IMHO. I know of tons of examples just in my own life of exes of certain genders pulling outrageous and cruel stunts with no remorse. Every case is different.

Leaving aside the 'jump the gun' issue, the slant being given here is amusing. CAREER KILLER

Jim Carrey's career is floundering because he hasn't been the driver of a hit movie for adults since 2005.
