I've got a set of Jim Wagners SRs in my Musicman Silhouette Special, and I've waxed eloquently about them in numerous posts as the best I've ever heard. Well, the unspeakable happened to me, and my middle pickup stopped working, so last Monday I called Jim to ask for a replacement. He replied "No problem; I'll wind you one tonight". Today, precisely one week and two minutes later, my replacement arrived. This is one week to wind a pickup he doesn't make as a production piece, pack and ship, and get it to me over the border here in Canada!!!! I am just totally knocked-out! I'm the service manager at Canada's largest independent music store, and deal with customers' problems and their solutions through somewhat, er, reluctant suppliers every day. I'm just floored there are still people like Jim out there who make an incredible product, yet want to fix a problem instantly. What a refreshing concept!
Kudos and heartfelt thanks to Jim! We'll talk later about the gold covers I got at the same time for the set of Goodwoods about to go into my PRS Hollowbody II Artist Package Piezo...gonna be a whole new story...Eric.

    goodwood in a HBII?! yikes!

bar none, jim is the best. i had a set of P/U's that i believed to be made by jim, because they had "jw" in blue on the neck and "jw" in red on the bridge...well, i called him, and he had me send them to him. he confirmed that they were VERY early fillmores, and he re-coverned them w/ nickle covers, and re-magnetized them for me! cant wait to get into my baker!

point being, jim is the man! i wish i lived closer to him so we could hang out and i could see him work his magic....

Jim is the man on so many levels it's insane. Super cool guy with amazing products. Just a template for how it should be done!! Cant say enough good things about him. He is a bit on the "special" side at times, but that's an endearing quality......no really it is.:Devil

Too funny!!! Yeah, I told Jim I want 'Grissom' in the bridge, and 'Betts' in the neck, and this is what he suggested.

Now to figure which guitar to put them in...CU22 or SCT.....

Now mine is the Fillmore bridge with the CR neck pickup.

Thats the Million Dollar question for sure. Me personally, the SCT, but since you're such a big Grissom fan the CU22 wouldnt be a bad thing either. No bad choice, either way you go. They sound amazing!

Jim is good folks, nicest guy, and makes the pickups that help me make music. Gotta give it up for him every chance I get.

Emailed him last night to ask some questions. He got back to me within 15 minutes and then started winding my pickups last night. Can't get any better than that and his pickups deliver the goods. Crossroads neck and Goodwood bridge going in the Historic R0 I just got from Mac Daddy. Life is good!

1 Week that's amazing, everytime I get something from Jim, the darn Postal Service takes a friggen month. I've got to be black listed at the border. Jim has been great every time I call because my pickups are missing again. :AOK
