The attention to detail in the recreation of this video is absolutely mind blowing.

I know it's The Tonight Show and it's supposed to be funny, but at this point I'm just in awe. Well done.

I wonder if they cut that live? That is pretty good. Not quite a good as Whip My hair. Are the other guys actually from Extreme?

I have no doubt Jack Black is good enough to sing it like that live, but I doubt Fallon did.

Nope. It's definitely not Pat Badger or Paul Geary (they look a bit different these days, although 25 years does that to person). :) My guess would be actors. But.... it's also not shots from the original video. Some of the guitar part close ups look like original cuts of Nuno(although now that I rewatch it, it may not be), but for the most part it looks like they simply recreated the the entire video.

Well I don't know. I think he is actually fairly musically talented for a guy whose career isn't centered around music. Enough to harmonize with Robert Plant on his show, sing in tune in front of millions of people with his guitar, and have enough awareness of the timbre of his voice to do some spot on (musical and non-musical) impressions, which is more than I could ever say.

I'd say there's a possibility it was all cut live. Maybe not in one take, but I give Jimmy some credit for his side-talents!

That recording was studio quality. Even on his best Days, Fallon's voice is a little pitchy and wavering. He's a good singer, not a great singer, and he sounded uncharacteristically great in that recording.

Jack Black, on the other hand, is an extremely talented and consistent singer, even if his voice and motions are cartoonish by intention.

    Well done.

Another reminder of just how lame Jay Leno was as host of The Tonight Show.

Jack Black is actually a very good singer. I would love to see him actually sing without going for the comedy angle all the time.

Very nice. Both have musical/vocal talent in their own right and understand entertainment. The best thing about this to me is that while they did a "parody" of sorts, it was more of an homage than making fun of it. Nicely done.

    I enjoyed that.

Just realized that both 80s rock singers and Jack Black wear stretchy pants!

Really fine recreation. Even down to the instruments and amp settings!

Seriously! Bass, amps AND setting identical. Drum set. Even as the drummer walks away, he reaches up to touch his chin as it fades out. Crazy attention to detail!!
