This is the Guitar Center in Cherry Hill NJ.

    Out and about
Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh stopped into Guitar Center (2100 Rt. 38) in Cherry Hill a couple of days ago where he picked up four guitars. Walsh, who left with a new Fender Stratocaster, two Gibson Les Pauls and a Gibson Diablo SG, was helped by assistant manager, Ralph Confredo, lead guitarist of Nasty Habits.

Wow, it strikes me as strange that a man of his status and background would just go buy off the rack Fenders and Gibsons. Must say something for the current state of quality in the new Fenders and Gibsons. I am sure that man knows what a good guitar is. Did he "run the racks" all over hell and back, look for a "master luthier" to build him one? No, he bought production Fenders and Gibsons.

Says a lot about Joe Walsh. He's a real dude, and on my short list of guys I'd like to party with if I had the opportunity!

I'm guessing he doesn't spend countless hours online obsessing over the latest and greatest super expensive custom guitars and taking every opportunity possible to slam the big makers? Just a wild guess...

Ahhh, how easier life would be without the intarweb.

He might still think it's 1977 too, though.

I'm guessing he knows it's the sculptor, not the chisel

I wonder if this is just some publicity stunt for GC. To try and get some interest to compensate for slumping sales.
Joe Walsh will play anything. Look at all the different guitars he has endorsed. Doesn't seem to picky. Just give him check and he'll hold it.

He also picked up a bunch of gear at the Cherry Hill Sam Ash last week. My buddy Johnny Mac sold him a MIJ pink paisley Tele and a few other guitars. I was told that he has a sister living in Moorestown and a few other relatives in South Jersey.

Is there a guitar he can't play? He's just one of those guys.

Joe will never spend sleepless nights worrying if the neck wood from his expensive Fender clone was milled from hundred year old wood left at the bottom of a lake since the Civil War.

When I lived in L.A., I saw him at GC buying some 4x12" extension cabs. Now I live in Encinitas, in San Diego county: I saw him at Home Depot buying some cleaning products. He was really cool.

That or they are promo guitars that he will sign and give away. My first thought anyway.

Those are typically provided by the manufacturer or the dealer - not out of his pocket.

For what it is worth, I have seen him in the Atlanta GC a couple of times. Heck, Billy Gibbons was there a couple of weeks back and picked up a used Gretsch.

Usually if youre that good at the guitar, you can play pretty much what you want, and itll sound good too.

People freaking about him not playing top shelf stuff is more funny than him actually Not playing top shelf stuff.
