I've always thought this song's lyrics are hilarious. I always wondered if it was autobiographical, or just a sarcastic take on the rockstar life we read about in Rolling Stone?

The other guitarist is the late Hiram Bullock and Omar Hakim on drums

If that's Letterman at the beginning he was looking like David Sanborn lol

If you watch the recent Eagle's documentary (on Netflix now), it gives some pretty good (and candid) insight into his life.

Could that be from Letterman's short-lived daytime talk show from 1980? I vaguely remember that one - that was the summer between high school and college for me; that show only ran from June to October.

    Love that song!

It seems Joe's Maserati has gotten MUCH faster over the years...

Joe was certainly under the influence of some substance(s) in that first video.

NBC's Sunday Night aka Night Music. 1988. Hosted by David Sanborn.

Damn - I did not remember that show at all. Sounds like it was pretty cool based on the various guests. I wonder if our NBC affiliate didn't show it in 1988-89 (and no one picked it up for the syndicated second season)?

Duh! No wonder why they were playing with Walsh, they were in the house band. :bonk

Never saw the program back then. I thought that looked like Marcus Miller on bass.

I really enjoyed watching him on the live at Daryl's house shows....heck, a lot of the guests on that show were awesome. If you haven't watched them, it is certainly worth doing so.

I for one am glad he sobered up. I believe that if he kept going at that rate, it would have ultimately killed him.

He was a frequent guest on The Howard Stern Show between 1986 and 1995. He would come on with Rick The Bass Player as he called him and you could tell he was impaired. But, when he would play a song he was on point. Joe is one amazing musician.

I know he had beef with the Eagles around the time he was doing some of those Stern shows and Howard used to egg him on to play old Eagles tunes.
