Go up to :48 and enjoy......
wish i heard Joey’s left paw better.
but that was cool, i mean hot.
He is a monster!
I saw him jam solo at a NAMM booth a few years ago and people were literally in tears!
Here's another great Joey clip...
I love his cd with another best ever...on guitar...Danny Gatton.
I went to see Mike Finnegan [Bonnie Riatt, CSNY] with Abe Laborial Jr., [the most recored Bassist of all time]it was an unbelievable experiance last night. At a little LA club, started by Studio guys, it's all gray hair and serious chops.
thewriteoffroom.com. If you ever come to LA you should check this place. Mike was playing one of these Viscount keyboards. They are the real B experience. I have an SK1, and I love it. But I'm really thinking about a Viscount.
I hadn't heard of Abe Laborial Jr. so I googled him and it says he is a drummer....?!?
I wasn't a huge fan of the SK1 but I heard a guy at a concert playing what seemed to be an SK2 that sounded great. Not familiar with the Viscount, though...
Def. one of the best living B3 masters. But I like all great B3 players, including Jimmy Smith, who recorded w/ JoeyD towards the end.
That's his son, I made a mistake in the post. He's Sr.
https://www.viscount-organs.com/organs/legend-organ/ joey has a sig. model
Joey's sound irritates me. Jimmy Smith is the king of B3 IMO.
Joey is pure awesomeness, but chops really isn't everything! Have a listen to what Ricky Peterson has to say on that subject:
I love that!,thanks man
Jr. is a drummer. Sr (Jr's dad) is the bassist. Both are absolute monsters on their instruments.
One of the drummers that I play with, Carmen Intorre tours with Joey D. Joey is a monster, but he's almost "too clean" on his runs.
I prefer Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, and Cory Henry is my new favorite. Cory's feel is incredible!
