That same tour Hiatt did an Austin City Limits episode which is really fantastic. Unfortunately for some reason when they were choosing ACL episodes to release on DVD they chose a later Hiatt show without Landreth.

The German TV show Rockpalast has a show with the the Goners with Sonny Landreth on guitar. I think you can buy it on DVD from the website.

By the way in the OP's video in post 1 does anyone know who the woman is on backing vocals?.

Paper Thin is such a great song and I always thought that it would have made a great Rolling Stones tune. The long vowels are signature Jagger and Keith and Charlie would really drive it.

One of my favorites, Bring The Family is a masterpiece - That record was my introduction to Hiatt with Ry Cooder and Jim Keltner a legitimate masterpiece -
saw Hiatt with Landreth on guitar at the Ryman outstanding show - Robert Cray opened

Also saw him with the songwriters tour Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett but Guy Clark was ill that night

I've heard a lot of stuff in recent years, by other songwriters I'd like to hear the Stones do.

"Off the Deep End" by Danny Flowers
    "Slow Death" by Webb Wilder
    "Sittin' Pretty by Webb Wilder
"You Can't Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl by Brooks and Dunn
    "Paper Thin" by John Hiatt

There are more I can't think of right now.

One of the best shows I've ever seen was Ry Cooder and his band with John Hiatt at the Old Waldor in San Francisco in 1981. I've gone to see both since then, but never together again. That show hooked me on both.

Love John, and catch him every summer when he comes through town (Ravinia, outside Chicago). And it's always a treat, but last summer it really felt like he mailed it in. I guess he's entitled to his off days, I just wish it had been somewhere else!
