It's probably a Power Rack, which has an integral amplifier.

Johnny Mar only uses the effects on the GT-100. His tone is pure amp.

You forgot Matt Bellamy of MUSE.
He's been using them since 2102, having had them out on 2 major world tours including this years trek around the globe.
While he may not be as popular as Mayer on TGP he's revered everywhere else as a guitarist who is always pushing his playing and his tech.
    Here's his current rig.

Here's a TGP thread from 2012 for perspective....

The only thing I know about them is that they are crazy expensive and really sought after. I thought it would be nice to mention it for those that didn't see his original Instagram post. That's it...

So how do we get him to post his profiles on the exchange?

From the looks of it, Bellamy has one KPA with a Muff dialed in and another labelled 'Animato'. Maybe he's running a Muff in the FX loop on one and his techy glitchy stuff in the loop on #2? Nice.

It's pointless for me to comment on Dumble - because there are beliefs in place that defy
    logic.

For those who didn't listen, this is what John Mayer said in the periscope clip (emphasis John's):

"I have a Kemper profiler which I've been using in the house, sort of as a bedroom-style amp, and it's GREEEAT. A little scary. It's missing a little bit of... it's missing.. it's a little bit... it's missing a little bit of something, but NOT MUCH!"

We recently had a concert and master class at our church with Doyle Dykes, an astounding acoustic guitar player. We chatted quite a bit and he showed some interest in my Kemper. He told of a friend of his with an astounding guitar collection (like 5 or so '59 Bursts among the other goodies) and multiple highly regarded amps, including Plexis and JTM45's and 4 Dumbles. He said in a prominent place in the control room in the studio was a Kemper. So even though they had all those amazing amps at hand, a Kemper was still used.

If the Kemper is Kool Aid, there are lots of high profile drinkers around, and the number seems to be increasing.

You know that he is a recovering egomaniac right? Maybe that's not the right word... Still a great guitarist with a nice voice that has a great pop sensibility and gets a ton of high profile *****... So, I think he's ok in my book, I could not care less what modeler he chooses!

It doesn't have to be - I keep telling one of my traveling guitar buds, if you know there is a PA to plug into when you get there, all you need is a overhead size rack case with a Kemper in it...

But can you get someone like him to do a true blind test and let all of us see? For some reason I doubt it.
