Yes sir,, me too
What an odd impression to have. I'm not very familiar wirh Josh's work besides a video here and there, but it's pretty obvious he's far from lost when he plays.
Plays 13s! Wow, those are some strong mitts.
You know dude, with all due respect, but your opinions are often some of the most disrespectful and ignorant I've read on TGP. It's cool to not like something but you continually seem to put down other players and stuff you don't like in a really negative fashion. If anything it makes you come off as extremely insecure and jealous. And btw I've heard some of your clips and you should be the last one criticizing someone else's playing so harshly, especially a guy like Josh who could play circles around you pissed drunk with both hands tied behind his back.
This post should be a sticky. Thanks for saying what everybody else in this place has been thinking for years.
Donald? Is that you?
Josh has a great new album with a jazz flavour. Was news to me and I've been listening to it all day; not sure if this old news to everyone else.
I'd really love to hear a live album....
I gotta check out his stuff. He really doesn't get enough attention IMO.
Josh Williams guitar, Mockingbird custom
thanks for the heads up.had'nt heard of josh before.nice playing.
Always impresses the heck outta me. Check out his Youtube videos. Also, check out the videos where he and Kirk Fletcher (another monster) are trying out LsL guitars. They sound killer. So do the LsL guitars.
Josh Smith & Matt Schofield & Kirk Fletcher are like my "modern" 3 Kings
I first became aware of Josh from his demos for Xotic Effects. Stellar playing. He got a hell of a tone out of a Strat, a Super Reverb and a few Xotic boxes.
best "modern" blues album i bought ! it is seriously a fresh air ... Just go buy it !
He got the tastiest Jazz chops too in my opinion !
I'm not big into jazz but that was incredible. Talk about subtlety.
Beast of a player.
One of my favorite clips is Josh and Bruce Foreman tearing it up on the BB King classic 'Paying the Cost to be the Boss'
yeah , i'm really picky about Jazz . and he does it in an amazing way , just spot on for my taste !
So for that reason , i love him even more because he is not only a damn good Blues player
he can cover any style really .. is last album is more Rock and kind of Hendrix influenced ( lots of fuzz and wha )
Also take a listen to that heavenly reverb Tone
