I just saw that trio here in Denver last week. It was jaw-dropping. Truly some of the finest guitar playing I have ever witnessed in person (had a table in the front row!). Dude is 27. I love the way he blends jazz with folk/bluegrass/americana sounds. Great band too.
I was at the Blue Whale show. He is so talented. Killer trio (Eric Harland on drums and Scott Colley on bass), too. I'm pretty sure he spent the entire night on the neck pickup (a gold foil of some sort, I think).
That Darn That Dream is pretty ... badass. His time is great...
I enjoyed those a lot. And the Danocaster sounds sweet. Looks mighty good too.
What an amazing player....
Love this one ...
Cool. He's playing through a 59 Ampeg Jet. I used to have one of those- I miss it.
The dude is simply amazing, thanks for posting!
Great stuff! Thanks for posting those clips!
Yup, he's growing into a unique voice for sure.. of course, hanging with Nels Cline doesn't hurt either
Is that a gold-foil p.u. in the neck position?
Wow that was amazing! And to think that he is only three years older them me... and fully formed
Agreed! I loved this.
Here is another one.
Yes, that's what I saw at the Blue Whale. No idea what brand. He spent both sets playing on that pickup. He was going through a Deluxe Reverb that night.
I've spoken with both him and Dan about it–it's a vintage gold-foil, not a modern remake.
One more with Kenny killing it.
great player and the most humble and sweetest guy in the world
the gold foil is an old Tesico. I'm making a nearly identical guitar for one of his fans right now ( as in TODAY )
