I love Plexi amps and my taste always runs to the old Marshalls. After hearing lots of clips, mainly Pete Thorns, I pulled the trigger.

Thanks to Nathan at Eddie's Guitars for having one in stock!

I should have it next week. It should sound killer with my Kerry Wright 2x12 and '69 Marshall 4x12. :banana

Gil, I'll have you know that the SL68 is THE next amp I'm saving up for LOL!

I'm sure the KW cabs will sound fantastic with it!

Let me know how it goes please!! :)

GAT, I'm sure you know this, but that old 4x12 cab can not safely take on a cranked 100W head. You'd need a full stack, even if you have G12H30s in there. Would be a shame if you blew your old Celestions...

Good for you! :)

Congrats!

Back down the ppimv a little ways and/or run at 90v to protect those speakers! John says the amp makes like 50w when it's in 90v mode...

Yeah, I'm not going to play very loud into that cab, about what a 25 watt amp would sound like.

Thanks for the advice. I really don't play very loud these days.

How different do you think it is going to be from the Friedman?

Michael, I can tell by the clips that it has that big/open clean tone I love. These days I run my amps when a strat gets a little bit dirty then goose it with pedals for more dirt. I'll let you know how it differs once I get it in the house! :beer

Got mine today! Wow! I cant get over how great the cleans are on this. Big, full, and punchy. Can get tones that rival my Matchless. Using a tele I can cover anything from country to rock and do it VERY well. Figured Id jump right to the EVH tones when I first got it but I cant get off the clean to slightly dirty tones. The master volume works really well. I have an Aracom DAG version attenuator but havent felt the need to use it yet. Ive owned my C-30 longer than any other amp Ive owned. 4-5 years. It does the Vox thing, for me, better than anything else Ive tried. I think I may have just found my Marshall.

This is how I felt about it. I was stunned when I found out how good the amp sounds with a tele doing the modern country thing. Such a beautiful sounding and flexible amp!

Great to hear! I'm glad it does the clean twang thing as that is a big part of my sound. I'll add an old Tommy Robert's version Fulldrive II and or a Klon to goose it.
