The COT50 hooked me on Sean's pedals.:BEER Got the vibe next which is also a very cool & inexpensive unit & 2 weeks ago , got my Eternity which is a great pedal all the way around. I heard the White Dragon is awesome too but unfortunately my pedal board has no more room!:(

Great pedal builder & nice guy to boot.

Congrats. Love my COT50 and use it on 90% of the gigs I do.

Got a White Dragon last week and have found it to be an extremely versatile fuzz/distortion/rangemaster/even boost. There is a wide variety of tones in that little box. Used it on gigs this weekend and the first time I kicked it on (more in fuzz mode) the other guitar player gave me that "WTF is THAT?" look from across the stage. :)

If you like the CoT, you have to check out the Eternity. It really is worth the hype it has been getting around here lately.

If I could only have a couple of pedals and a good clean tube amp. The pedals would be my FAB-50 and my Eternity.

Fortunately, I haven't made it onto Survivor Island FX Contest cast.

Has there been a desert island pedal thread?

Like you go to Fender Twin Island. What do you need to feed your tone, minimum?

I am VERY tempted to get a lil' china burst COT right now but I'm not sure how well it'd work for me as I have a Twin that will never break up. I'm interested to hear thoughts on COT use with a Twin

Looking for low to medium gain with volume boost when you kick it on? Might very well be the pedal for you. I use it with two of my 50 watt amps this way. Also might be a great pedal to leave on all the time depending on your tastes. However, if you're looking for overdrive at unity volume levels the COT is probably not for you.

My favorite way to use the COT is to overdrive an amp already on the verge (or over it) - absolutely fabulous with a Bruno CT22 at gig volume levels!

That sounds great. I hold the belief that an increase in gain should come with an increase in volume so that works for me.

Would I be able to get a Roy Buchanan type sound out of the pedal?

Assuming you have a Tele, I don't think that would be a problem. ;)

Seriously, I've sat down with Second Album, a Tele, and the COT and had some good times.

Ya, good old Roy was able to get those sounds without pedals but any help is appreciated.

    I'm tempted.

the cot is a magickal pedal; it's easily one of my all-time faves (i WISH i still had mine, even with the prob's it had, but they're so dear these days), and it is NOTHING at all like the eternity, which i personally never really cared for. it's not bad, not by any means, i'd just found something kinda similar that did a better job which i much preferred. the eternity just seemed a bit bland by comparison. the cot, on the other hand, has gobs of personality under a hood that sports ONE KNOB!! brilliant!

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly does the COT sound like? Is it like having another gain stage in your amp?
