That's pretty hardcore for a first tattoo. 10-11hrs is a long time. Black and grey is timeless, it should hold well.

Yikes, start the removal process immediately! :)
jk... as long as you like it.
But I will say this, out of 1000 tattoo artists I'd say 1 has any originality thats worth a damn. Too many stock photos of tired artwork.

I'm not much into pain so I'd never be able to do that. Looks nice.

    Evidently weed amplifies the pain.

What a coincidence. I got my first tattoo on Jan 20! And guess what, a owl.

I feel almost the same way, but I follow a few artists from Eastern Europe who are doing incredible work. Very original and appealing. I don't think I'd want anything less on my body.

    It's a slippery slope.

I've got an owl holding a lantern on the back of my calf, owl brothers!

Killer tat, good on ya for not only waiting, but going to a good artist! I waited until I was 27 as well and am sure glad I did. I love Marvin the Martian, but am thankful 19-year-old me talked me out of that one and a few others that I wanted at the time.

It’s really great looking. I may get my first this year. My 13 year old daughter recommends the Grateful Dead because I love em and have 37 years.

It's funny you say that, because when I picture you in real life (something I rarely do...), it's with a tattoo of your avatar on your forehead. :D

@William Braddell I see you're in NZ. Not sure how often you travel to Sydney but Dan Coy and Heath Nock are worth checking out for future work.

A lot of people complaining about the pain of getting a tattoo in here that have never had a tattoo... it's actually an interesting feeling.

Pain causes endorphins, which in turn makes you feel good. Most locations on the body, getting a tattoo is not that painful, but the endorphins are still flowing. You end up laying there is an interesting state of bliss.
