I just took half a day off work to come home and play around with my new amp. This thing is amazing! I had pretty high expectations, but this thing surpasses them. Anyone wondering about the "clean" Fuchs sound... it is really sweet, and extremely versatile. If you set it up right and hit that bridge PU (semi-hollow body w/SD '59s), it truly sparkles. On the bridge PU it is super warm and silky. Put both PUs on and you get a mix of the sparkle and the warmth... but not like any amp I've ever played before. Very nice! The OD channel is endlessly fun! Any tone that I had in my head as desirable... I just play around a few minutes and pay close attention to what each control is doing.. and viola! It also really screams if you want to go there.

This is a 2X12 combo with Patriot Red, White and Blues speakers and a quad of Bendix 5992 (6V6GT) power tubes. Stock preamp tubes for now... I'm having too much fun playing to mess around with 'em. The RWBs are a great choice if you're an EV fan. They are a tad warmer, but still hold together very well, and seem to do both nice, sparkley clean and Dumble OD just fine.

One funny thing that pleasantly suprised me is that with this amp I really can get a Robben Ford tone. I know I'll never play like him, but now what comes out of the amp really has "THAT" tone. Same for Larry C... I ain't got the chops, but I bought the tone! If anyone is wondering if these amps really are what everyone seems to claim they are... you can add me to the list. This is BY FAR the best sounding and most verstaile amp I've ever played. I've had Fenders and Boogies (Mark IIc and Subway Rocket) and Music Man and Roland and even a Lab Series (what a weird amp that was)... this Fuchs is on a whole new level.

So... I'm a very happy camper.

Welcome to the Fuchs owner's family! Even with a TDS100 in the house I still love plugging into my ODS30SLX. That amp has something so special going on that I just have to keep it. What a great amp. I just can't say how impressed and infinitely happy I am with both my Fuchs amplifiers. How bout a pic of that machine. I love porn!!:)

    Again Congrats!!

Congrats! I've had my Fuchs modded Super Reverb for a week now, and it FAR surpassed my expectations. I'm currently running mine with a pair of Tonespotters, but I'm going to try the Red, White, and Blues this weekend.

Yours is "Hand Tuned"? I have an ODS 30 SLX. Not current spec. I'm considering some updates.

What did you have done? Mine sounds closer to LC than RF. Scott's sounds more like RF. Great amp as is, but I have some ideas....

I think it's great that these can be tweaked!

BTW, try some Tung-Sol 12AX7's. My Bluesbird has SD 59's. The ODS loves that guitar!

Andy ships the amps with the Tung-Sols now. I have a bunch of NOS preramp tubes I will eventually try out, but right now I'm having too much fun playing to stop and fiddle with tubes.

There are a couple of changes and an additional pull-out pot that Andy adds... so the HT takes the SLX to the next level... but there may be even more mods in the future as new ideas are tried. Scott L would probably be able to explain what the mods are better than I, considering he came up with them. From what I hear, Scott and Andy are still working to make the ODS more refined.

I really like the SD 59s... there seems to be a really nice balance to them.

If you are going to have Scott do mods for you and he does 'em all, you will indeed have the latest... and his mods are getting a really nice RF tone.

I love my fuchs'. The best amps in the world (for me). The amps are great with humbuckers, but plug your tele in and watch out!

i think what i need about now is a patented fretmaster dissertation on the merits and shortcommings of the fuchs od30, TDS (fill in the wattage blank), and the two rock line, and how they stack up against one another.
i obviously have similar tastes, so your honest and candid perspective would be refreshing.

Welcome to the growing list of Fuchsaholics! :D I have two ODS 50 heads (one running EL-34's, and the other 6l6's), a Lucky 7, and a modded DRRI. My ODS heads are both pre SLX, and when I first got them Andy offered to do the mods if I wanted them. While I'm sure that Andy and Scott certainly have better ears than I do, I told Andy that the amps were perfect as is for me, and I didn't want to take a chance on losing the mojo that they already had. Still loving 'em. :AOK

Waazz up my Mo bro?! As soon as a get a few spare minutes I will fill you in on my takes on the afore mentioned jems. In short I can say "merit" are many, "shortcomings" very, VERY few IMHO.

Aaah the Peacemaker...... What an incredible beast. My signature is in no particular order and the Mojave Peacemaker's place in my favorites list is in stone.:AOK
