My buddy was playing a gig tonight, he wanted to try my C+.
He normally uses an SC30 with an A/b box and a Mesa distortion pedal.
We switched amps between sets ( I helped as well as sat in).
    The Matchless won hands down.
    Pretty shocking.
I am a Matchless guy and this was a little suprising. I thought it may be a toss up. No comparison. Hard rock to country and pop.
    Tone report this Sat. /08

    Different amps.
i have a Bad Cat HC30, which I'm guessing is alike the Matchless, and a IIC+.
They are both awesome, but it would not occur to me to really compare them.
Through a quad, the IIC+ is untouchable for rip-your-head-off snarl, but the HC30 has a sweetness and a delicacy to it that is quite different, though the overall gain level is similar.
What cab were they played through ?

They sit next to each other in my house! Love 'em both but two totally different avenues. Both sit great in a live mix.

Do you have the live recording of both amps in action? From my experience, it takes a little time to dial in the Boogies. I've got 2 '84 MKIIC+ combos and it took a while for me to dial in MY sweet spot. If he got the amp and tried to dial in a tone on your amp the HE thought would work, then he didn't tweak it enough to compare with the tone of the Matchless that he's VERY familiar with. The Boogies are WAY harder to dial in on the fly than a Matchless.
