This was a very nice sounding Tungsram ECC83 by the way.
Can you just dispose of the remains or is there anything hazardous in there?

That sucks.


Moral of the story is that tubes and hard floors don't go together well. Maintain your amps over carpets.

I dropped a pre-amp tube on the carpet a couple of months ago. It broke just like the one on the hard floor.:jo

I hear you.
This is my apartment floor though. My amp is at my band's rehearsal room which has nice persian rugs. The "accident" happened when I pulled the tube out of my jacket pocket. Masel tov.

Also, some tubes seem to be more fragile than others. I once broke an RFT just by pulling it out of the socket.
